Let me just start by saying that Justin and I are loving our summer so far. We both finished up work last Friday and we are beyond happy with our decision to build in a little vacation time before we head back to the working world.
We have loved spending time with family and friends, spending time outside, playing games, going on bike rides at the lake, playing basketball, reading, getting more settled into our new place, and just taking some time to breathe and relax. The last few months have been busy and stressful, and we are so thankful that we are able to take this respite before we head back to a new job (for me) and a new school year (for Justin).
Among other things, we have enjoyed...
McKinney Trade Days
A Rangers game with the siblings
A few bicycle races
Some delicious breakfasts (courtesy of Justin)
Build-A-Bear (we had a gift card and had a BLAST!!)
Spent some time with my precious Aunt Gena
Had game day
And craft time
And have overall have had just a wonderful time!
Justin and I are in Belton right now dropping off our puppy dog with my parents before we head to Michigan to visit his family. Geoff and Jamie came down to pick up their dog, who was also enjoying Camp Grandma and Grandpa, and we all headed down to the lake this morning.
We had a great time watching Reyah play, and were very amused to see Beau suddenly get over his fear of the lake and dive in after her!
Justin had to jump in and rescue the little guy at one point when he just couldn't keep up with his bigger playmate, but everyone left happy and exhausted.
We are loving our summer so far, and we are very excited to be leaving the hot, hot Texas summer for some time in much-cooler Michigan tomorrow!
